Scope of Unit
This unit is a novel study based on Brigid Lowry's Guitar Highway Rose. The novel tells the story of fifteen year old Rosie who experiences a lot of the angst and drama of being a teenager that most of you will be able to relate to. She worries about boys, fights with her mum and is close to her best friend Pip.
We will be using Guitar Highway Rose to explore ideas about perceptions of self, adolesence and relationships in families. Along the way, we will looking a self portraits and the appropriation of existing texts for new purposes.
The left hand column will break down every English lesson for you including a summary of what we did and any worksheets or notes that were used.
